Borrow the format, keep the credit, make it yours.
Create your own Servd-style deck: office challenge cards, built inside the most intuitive and complete board game maker. And yes, it is free.
Servd turned everyday life into a card game: split the deck, agree on a timeframe, and spend the next few days (or weeks) “serving” cards on each other instead of playing in one sitting. We loved the format so much we built our own edition, set in the office. Here’s the free template, plus everything you need to build your own.
Here’s the “how to open this template” block adapted for Gotcha (the name we have given to this Servd Inspired Template):
You can also download Tabletop Creator app first. That’s where the actual magic happens, whether you want to play around with a template or build your own game from scratch.
As for Gotcha, downloading it from this page is totally optional. We like putting some of our designs out into the wild, but you’ll also find it waiting for you right inside Tabletop Creator, alongside other templates inspired by classic games and more generic designs. So if you’d rather skip this download, just grab the app and jump straight in.
If you do decide to download Gotcha separately, getting it open is easy. Launch Tabletop Creator, head to Projects, click Open, find the folder you downloaded, and open the .tcp file inside.
And there you go. The project will open with its different blueprints and components ready to explore. From there, Gotcha (Servd. Inspired Template) is yours to edit, pull apart, remix, or turn into something completely different.
Servd is the real-life card game that’s been picked up everywhere from Forbes to BuzzFeed to Oprah Daily: two people split a deck, set a timeframe, and “serve” cards on each other as challenges to complete over days or weeks rather than a single game night. Cards stack, refusing to play one costs you a card of your own, and by the end, you both just kind of know who won. All credit for the format goes to Servd, go check out the original.
Servd already has official decks for Couples, Kids vs Parents, Newborn Parents, and even a Chore Chart edition, plus a Friends deck that tends to sell out. Each one is built for a different relationship, which is exactly what gave us the idea: the format travels well.
We spend a lot of our week at a desk, so an office edition felt like the obvious gap. This isn’t an official Servd product, just our own spin on their idea, built with proper credit and a genuine soft spot for the original. Download it as is, or use Tabletop Creator to rebuild it as a Roommates Edition, a Siblings Edition, or your own take on any of Servd’s official decks.
Create your own board game, make your dreams come true, and ruin your friends’ patience. With Tabletop Creator you’ll have the essential tools to do it easily.
