The Components screen is the core of your project, where you can create, organize, and customize key elements of your game, such as decks, tokens, and boards. This centralized interface allows you to manage everything in one place, making the design process more efficient.
Use the quick options at the bottom to easily add new components or clone and modify existing ones. Each set of components can be customized and visually adjusted in real-time.
Creating a new set
When designing your tabletop game, organizing your components into sets is essential for efficient management and customization. In Tabletop Creator, you have several flexible options to create a new set, tailored to your specific needs:
- New Deck: Choose this option to add a new deck of cards to your project. This is ideal for games that rely heavily on card mechanics, allowing you to start with a fresh deck that you can further customize with your own designs and rules.
- New Token: This option lets you create a new token within your project. Tokens can represent various elements in your game, such as player pieces, markers, or resources. Starting with a new token allows you to define its attributes from scratch.
- New Board: Select this to introduce a new board into your project. Whether your game requires a main game board or multiple smaller boards, this option gives you the foundation to create and customize the playing surface.
- Duplicate: If you have an existing set that closely matches what you need, use the Duplicate option. This creates an exact copy of the set but allows you to apply a new blueprint, enabling you to make significant adjustments without starting from scratch.
- Mirror: Similar to Duplicate, the Mirror option creates a copy of an existing set but retains the same blueprint. This is useful when you want to replicate a set’s structure while keeping all its design elements intact.
- Custom: For those who need something completely unique, the Custom option allows you to create a set entirely personalized to your specifications. This is perfect for complex games that require unique components and configurations.
Quick tip
ℹ️ From the Blueprint screen, you can also conveniently create a new set by right-clicking on any blueprint and selecting the “Create New Set” option from the dropdown menu. This feature streamlines the process, making it easier to start a new set directly from an existing blueprint, ensuring consistency and saving time.
