Board Game Creation Contest – Summer Edition is done, and we’ve got a winner:
The Fastest Gun in the West, made by J-P Kurikka.
It’s a quick card game for 2-3 players, Wild West duel style. Each player starts with a hand of cards and a row of face-down cards on the table, plus a DRAW card kept hidden in front of them. To win, you first have to get rid of everything in your hand, then everything on your table, and only then can you play your DRAW card, the first one to do it wins the duel.
Along the way, players can swap cards between their hand and their table, and some cards can even be played during an opponent’s turn to mess with their plans. So even though the rules are simple, there’s a good amount of bluffing and timing involved, you never quite know what the other players are holding back.
Picking a winner wasn’t easy this time. The jury went back and forth quite a bit, there were some really strong entries this edition. Thanks to everyone who submitted a game, seriously.
