Terms and Conditions of the Contest

 

 

1. PURPOSE OF THE CONTEST

This contest aims to encourage creativity and board game design by offering participants the opportunity to develop and document their creation process. Each month, a winner will be selected to receive a free prototype of their game, and at the end of the contest, one final winner among the ten monthly winners will be chosen to receive the full production of their game.

2. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Participants must meet the following requirements:

✔️ Be at least 18 years old or have legal guardian authorization.

✔️ Submit an original game, created by themselves, without infringing third-party rights.

✔️ Document the game creation process in video.

✔️ Use Tabletop Creator to develop the game.

✔️ Share the video on social media using the hashtag #TabletopCreator and submit the link via our form before the monthly deadline.

3. CONTEST MECHANICS

3.1 Monthly Participation

  • Participants must develop their own board game using Tabletop Creator and record the process in a video.
  • The video can be a single long-format video (minimum 1 minute) or a series of short clips totaling at least 1 minute.
  • The content must be posted on social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or Twitter) with the hashtag #TabletopCreator and sent via email before the monthly deadline. If participants prefer not to post it on their personal social media, it can be uploaded to Tabletop Creator’s official channels.
  • A panel of judges will evaluate the proposals and select a monthly winner, who will receive a free prototype of their game.

3.2 Video Submission Guidelines

Each participant must document the board game creation process in a video and share it in one of the following ways:

Sending us the video to be published on our official social media channels. Participants can submit their video directly through the registration form, and we will take care of sharing it on our social media.

Posting it on their own social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or Twitter) using the hashtag #TabletopCreator and tagging us in the post. Then, they must submit the video link through the registration form.

  • YouTube
    • Minimum duration: 1 minute
    • Format: Horizontal video (16:9)
    • Title: Must include the game’s name and the hashtag #TabletopCreator
    • Description:
      • Brief synopsis of the game and its mechanics.
      • Link to the contest registration landing page.
      • Mention of Tabletop Creator.
    • Privacy: Public or Unlisted (but the link must be shared in the form).
  • TikTok
    • Duration: Minimum of 1-minute video
    • Format: Vertical (9:16)
    • Content: Explanation of the game creation process, including mechanics, components, and playtesting.
    • Text in the post:
      • Game name and theme.
      • Hashtag #TabletopCreator.
      • Tag the contest’s official account.
  • Instagram
    • Duration: Short videos or a single video of at least 1 minute in total.
    • Format: Vertical (9:16)
    • Text in the post:
      • Brief explanation of the game.
      • Mention Tabletop Creator.
      • Hashtag #TabletopCreator.
    • Tags: Tag the contest’s official account.
  • Twitter (X)
    • Duration: Minimum of 1-minute video (can be uploaded as multiple tweets in a thread).
    • Format: Horizontal or vertical.
    • Post:
      • Brief explanation of the game in the first tweet.
      • Upload the video as a reply to the first tweet if needed.
      • Hashtag #TabletopCreator.
      • Tag the contest’s official account.

4. EVALUATION CRITERIA

The jury will evaluate each proposal based on the following criteria:

  1. Creativity and originality: Unique and innovative concept.
  2. Narrative and mechanics: Coherent storytelling or game dynamics.
  3. Quality of video documentation: Clarity, storytelling, and engagement.
  4. Design feasibility: Realistic production possibilities.
  5. Innovation: Creative use of mechanics and materials.
  6. Use of the platform: Effective use of Tabletop Creator.

5. PRIZES

  • Monthly Prize (April – December):

    free prototype of the game for each of the 10 monthly winners.

  • Grand Final Prize (December):

    Full production of the board game for the final winner.

6. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Only original games will be accepted. Any suspicion of plagiarism will automatically disqualify the participant.
  • Video content must not include offensive language, inappropriate material, or elements that infringe copyright.
  • Participants grant Tabletop Creator the rights to use the submitted material for promotional and marketing purposes.
  • The jury’s decision is final and non-appealable.
  • The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Tabletop Creator is not responsible for any technical issues in registration or material submission.
  • The jury reserves the right to declare any monthly contest void if the submitted proposals do not meet a minimum quality standard in terms of creativity, originality, game mechanics, and production feasibility.
  • Tabletop Creator reserves the right to modify the contest rules at any time if deemed necessary. Any changes will be communicated in advance to participants and applied fairly.

7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONTENT USAGE

  • All board games created for this contest remain the exclusive property of their authors. Tabletop Creator does not claim ownership of any game submitted.
  • By participating, contestants grant Tabletop Creator the right to use submitted videos for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, website content, and marketing materials.
  • The submitted video must clearly showcase the creation process using Tabletop Creator. This is an essential requirement for participation.
